Aritudo is home to several intelligent species who, despite differing worldviews, share a common goal: to reclaim and restore the planet’s harsh deserts into fertile lands.

They are divided into two groups.

The Arithani

The Arithans or Arithani - are a desert-dwelling people of animal hybrids - that lives in harmony with nature, striving for peaceful coexistence with all living beings. They revere the River Dragons (Paqua) and Tree Dragons (Arboridae) as Sacred Creatures, symbols of ecological transformation and balance.

Habitat: Forest & desert

Species traits:

They are a spiritual, peaceful people who inhabit the few fertile regions of the planet - areas created by the sacred creatures. Their way of life is deeply aligned with nature and shaped by profound respect for all living beings.

The Arithans practice sustainable agriculture through mixed cultivation and are frugal in their use of resources. To them, water and seeds are sacred and must never be wasted. In specially constructed seed archives (huge Temples), the Arithans collect a wide variety of seeds, carefully documenting them on detailed scrolls. These records contain ancestral knowledge about the properties of each plant species and their effects on the ecosystem. The seeds are also deliberately passed on to the tree dragons, allowing the Arithans to influence the growth of future forests - without planting them directly themselves.

Their architecture is organic and aesthetic, built from natural materials such as bamboo, clay, and stone. Bamboo is an essential resource that they cultivate themselves. At the heart of their settlements, the Arithans construct temples and shrines dedicated to the river dragons and tree dragons. These structures serve not only ritual purposes, but also function as sanctuaries and supply sites for the creatures.

In character, the Arithans are resilient, slow-paced, analytical, and patient. They observe their surroundings carefully and act only after thorough consideration.

There are no wars among them - their society is founded on cooperation, respect, and harmony. They value what they have and guard the fragile balance of their world with great care.

Arithans make up approximately 90% of the population of Aritudo and are divided into several species (sub-peoples):
